Sort base on formula 2

I am trying to sort my report using a formula field but my formula fields are not showing up as an option. Here is an example of the formula in case the formula itself is a problem.

Sum({Profile:_Stage_II.hhpaid_ibnr},{Profile:_Stage_II.Provider ID})/Sum({Profile:_Stage_II.Membership},{Profile:_Stage_II.Provider ID})

It is my understanding that you can sort using formula fields. Why are mine not showing up?

You can't use a sum because it isn't available at evaluation time, it's yet to be formed.

Your best bet is to do this on the database.

If you want to sort based os a summary operation, you need to use the Top-N feature. Try the Top-N expert. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
