Sony SMO-F551 Optical Drive 1

I just purchased a drive and the file I am trying to read comes up asking ifd you want to format. It is from a covenat Imaging system. Could some one tell me how to read images if you dont know the format.

Secondly, What are the switch setting on the drive

Hey there,
Let me know what your trying to do with respect to cabling and access and I'll tell you the switch settings for the SONY drive.
All switches should be down (off) except the following in a typical setup.
Set Force Verify dip switch E = 1 (On)
Set termination dip switch F = 1 (On)

Question For The Experts

I just recieved in today's mail a Sony SuperMac Optical Drive, which I had "won" on Ebay. I have every reason to believe this drive is 10-15 years old.

Do I need drivers in order for the optical drive to mount? I have looked at virtually every site on the

http://www and

am unable to find downloadable drivers for this unit.
