Sony digicam not being detected by win xp m/c

i installed the USB driver thru the CD provided by SOny for the DSC P72 model Sony digicam but still my digicam is not detected by win xp.I have tried my digicam on a friend's pc havng win XP and there it automatically detects the digicam without even needing the software for the USB driver provided by Sony.
?I am using win XP professional edition.
What should i do now?

On the camera change the mode from USB to PTP.

thanx bcastner ...changing to ptp mode worked
it's working for still images..
will it work for videos also?

For videos you need something besides the camera and scanner wizard.

And you would then use USB mode on the camera.
