I just received a new Sony Clie NX70, and am having problems getting my compact flash 256 mb memory card to work. The instruction manual does not cover the topic at all, only mentions in a heading that the slot can be used for compact flash memory (i assume this is because they want you to use their memory sticks)... Regardless, it won't recognize the card!! It can't format, read, nothing.... I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similiar problem, thanks.

Additionally I tried two compact flash cards, one was brand new 256mb (didn't work) and the other was 32mb from a digital camera (same result, had pictures on it)....

I wasn't aware that ANYTHING Sony used anything other than MemStick. But I just checked the following forum where you will no doubt be titillated:

This forum for Sony users is holding a contest to see if anyone can program a driver for the CF slot. I guess it doesn't work...YET! Email me! denodave@yahoo.com

Yea I returned the compactflash memory & settled for a 128mb memory stick. Although the compact flash memory fits perfectly into the slot, and it was indeed supposed to support other devices (prior press releases), but evidently not there yet....

Even if nothing is ever supported for that slot the sony clie nx series is definitly still worth getting.... If you can justify the expense I highly highly recommend it!
