My Sony CD-RW started having trouble reading home-burned (mine and ones I get from friends) data CDs a few weeks ago. Now it won't read home-burned data CDs at all. But it will read home-burned audio disks (files in CDA, WMA, and MP3 formats), and it will read disks I've purchased pre-recorded. Have you heard of this before?
When I insert a home-burned data disk into the drive, the green light on the front comes on for a minute without blinking and then the drive ejects the disk.
I recently installed new CD recording software (Sonic). My other CD burner, a Yamaha unit, is still working properly.
Thanks for any help or experience with this problem that you might be able to share.
