I'm having a lot of read open errors followed by an inability to eject the tape. Tried nsrjb -HE and the inventory to " wake up the box " but no joy in Mudville. Buy the way its an ADIC 1000 Scalar running fibre.

Any suggestions out there?

mcurran1,

Don't think your problem lies with Legato losing the inventory information from the ADIC Scalar 1000. Try running the "Inquire" command and checking the SCSI id order of the drives. Its possible that the physical order of the drives is different than what Microsoft Windows thinks is the order. You may have to change the physical cabling in the ADIC on the drives to get it correct. Legato and drive information from the Scalar may not be the same. I've got this info for 2 different sources. You may want to make a "Lemaytrix" and record which drive continues to give this error and troubleshoot it from their. Good Luck

ok I give up what is a "Lemaytrix" ?
Your real name wouldn't be larry or alan would it?

We have the same problem with Legato Networker and Adic Scalar 1000 AIT-2 tape libraries.

Please contact me.
