Something strange in access

we have an access database in network, recently there is something strange in Access.when we insert data to table,sometimes it failed,but if we do it again it succeed!
same table same query same macro,same everything,no error message,no corruption,but it give different result.I tested it many times it work well, but something really happened sometimes.
Could someone tell me the reason about it?how to avoid it?Any help will be greatly appreciated.I was so confused....

Well, something strange in Access is a way of life!!

But here are some thoughts...

What kind of query are you using? How do you know it is NOT updated? Are you requerying the form you are entering data with (I am assuming you are using a form?) Have you repaired and compacted anyway? Have you tried opening a new database and importing everything?
