I had been having serious issues and errors trying to reload Windows 98 on a system. The errors ranged from an unable to write to disk error to an "invalid DPMI return from 06F7:01B2" error to no error at all, just a lock-up. After shutting everything down and giving up...then returning to the system after several hours I was able to get the O/S to load without a problem, but I am still having lock-up issues. The reason I originally reformatted and reloaded because the system was locking up very frequently. So I'm wondering if something is overheating causing the lock-up and after cooling down things work again. Any thoughts?
