Is there an easy way, other than cycling power repeatedly and melting enough wax to put together a Crayon 64 pack, to clear the old ink out of the reservoirs and printheads?

I purchased a used Tektronix 850. First power on went normally (though I'm informed that I should replace the Maintenance Kit even though the diagnostic page indicates 24% remaining). Noticed with the first page out that only black was being applied.

The printer has a low page count and appears in every other way to be a winner. Guidance, please?

Regards...David

The cleaning phase the printer does everytime he powers up can be performed also by choosing in the menu "troubleshooting" and "eliminate light stripes". At this time the printer will clean the printhead and will also purge it. This purging uses 1/8th of a block. So after performing this eliminate light stripes a couple of times, colours should come back. Be patient, even running this test can take some time :)

Greetz,

David, do you have an email adres, then i will send you 4 pdf files whit the 4 basic colors of this printer, you can print this until the colour is clean.

This will take a long time & quite a few sticks of ink to get the likes of the Yellow back to near the correct shade. As the blocks are shaped.

Firstly though ensure nothing has been setup to print Black Image only
