Hi list,

suddenly few days ago, the backup jobs aren't fine..
I receive from the logs these error codes:
E4102, E4116, E3511, E5110.

all of them related of the database.

What can I do?

Thanks.

Your explanation of your problem is very weak.
Could you give us some more information.

What are the error messages saying, more than the obvious:
E4102
What version or arcserve do you have?
On what OS are you running it?

so on and so forth.

If you expect to get any help at all you should put more effort in your posts.

Cheers,
GSC

Common sense is not so common anymore

Arcserve 9.0 (build 2050) on W2k Server with SP4.

When a backup job is scheduled it starts fine, (it does at night).
Next morning, I get this error message and the db service is stopped.
The first message I get is:

Error 4102

4102 Unable to open database. (DATABASE=database_name, EC=db_error_code)

next one:

Error 4116

4116 Unable to begin database backup. (EC=db_error_code)

next:

Error 3511

3511 Unable to begin database backup. (EC=db_error_code)

If you need anything else,,,

Thanks.

Good! Now we have something we can work with.

Ok, looks like you have a database issue.
If you have a asterix (*) in front of the job ID then it is definately something with your DB.

Two things you can do here.
You can initialize your database and see if it will help.
See faq478-5164 that I've written.
If that doesn't work you have to delete the old DB and start with a new one.

Thanks,
I'll try it.

Cheers

Slow way - repair databases
quick way - just initialize, probably just astpsdat.

There are a few faqs in the ARCserve forum that provide more details.
