This a known issue with all forms of Microsoft email products. In the options, for the email program, the sender has the option turned on to send the email in a Rich-Text format.

Your email system cannot read attachments formatted for Microsoft Exchange Rich Text Format. Ask the sender to please reformat them with the following Attachment Instructions below, then resend.

Part.001

ATTACHMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. In Microsoft Exchange, click Address Book on the Tools menu.
2. Right-click the recipient's address.
3. Click Properties on the menu that appears.
4. Disable the 'Always send messages in Microsoft Exchange rich text format' option.

The steps will variate with Outlook 98, 2000, XP + Outlook Express, but the option is there.
