Hi all,

I seem to have messed up my setup somewhat - created my internal dns server name as mydomain.com. Works fine , but the actual mydomain.com is hosted at an ISP so all PCs in the network cannot resolve to the mydomain.com website or e-mail server. Apart from demoting the AD domain controller (losing all accounts), changing the dns name to mydomain.local and then promoting, is there any easy way of getting around this?

Thanks

Thanks,

Sounds like the perfect solution - I will try it

Richard

Worked like a charm - thank you also added my mail record the same way

Go to Start --> Programs --> Administrative tools --> DNS.
Click on plus next to your servers name. Then click on plus next to Forward Lookup Zones. Right Click on your domainname.com folder and select add a new host. Type the name and your webservers ip addy for its address. If you need to do the same for mail just repeat and use mail instead of www.
