Solstice 5.0.1 + preclntsave fails ("rm:" question)

We're using pre-backup commands to shutdown all Oracle instances and post-backup commands to start them up again. Last weekend Solstice ran the pre commands and failed to complete them (the backup for this client failed completely). The only 2 messages found are: (in /nsr/logs/savepnpc.log on the client)

05/18/01 22:21:43 preclntsave: On svc0011: Did not run pre-processing cmd(s) successfully.
05/18/01 22:35:07 preclntsave: On svc0011: Did not run pre-processing cmd(s) successfully.
05/18/01 22:48:26 preclntsave: On svc0011: Did not run pre-processing cmd(s) successfully.
05/18/01 23:02:17 preclntsave: On svc0011: Did not run pre-processing cmd(s) successfully.
.... (this keeps going and going)

and:

My questions are:
1. How come the preclntsave keeps giving a message instead of just once?
2. What does the "rm:" stand for?

Maybe you are trying to remouve some files (rm) for a directory you need to use rm -r.

If you read legatos dokuments it says every were that tha savepnpc only runs ones per client but my experiens tels me that ist ones per saveset. thats the reason for the same error multipel times.

Hi,

You are correct. What I have observed is that Savepnpc runs the preclntsave portion once per saveset defined in the client resource, however pstclntsave runs just the once. So if you do have a problem with a saveset or savepnpc you will see one preclntsave error per saveset.
