Hi tech dudes!
Need your help once again.

I received a refurbished IPO 500V2 with 2 combo cards.
Read over the instructions on how to setup new unit.
Take out config from the sd card, format and rebuild.
Next step was to connect with the IPO unit with laptop, set same subnet and tried to connect to he manager.

Would not connect. The IPO combo card has a solid red light on the port number 1 and 9. I seen this before on working units that it would flash before it turns green but this current unit doesn't even flash.

The manager version I'm using is 9.1.
The sd card information I received with the unit has some serial numbers and also 9.1.

Based on this link, red indicates error or card error/ wrong type.

I did try to format and rebuild, where could I gone wrong here?

the key word here is
refurbished IPO 500V2

you can't just take an old processor, recreating the SD card and make it any release you want.

the initial phone call made on the hardware decides what release the system can be without an upgrade license.

open Manager and go to File - Advanced - Upgrade

then it will show you what release you have and what release the system can handle without upgrade license.

Also without any licences the unit will be in muppet basic mode the indicator lights act differently in this mode (I think that may be what you are seeing)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Depending on the former release of the system and the release you formatted the SD card with you might be missing in between steps:
"Control Units identified as PCS 14 and below must first install release 8.1(65) (or higher 8.1 release) or any 9.0 release before upgrading to release 9.1. This is necessary to expand the loader to accommodate the 9.1 software image. The PCS level can be found on the printed label at the rear of the unit or the shipping box.

The SD card should step through the upgrades automatically, you can see this when you upgrade different levels via SD as going from 7 to 9 takes longer than going from 8.1 to 9. And if that isn't the case then I am one extremely lucky person as I never worry about manual stepping anymore.
