Solaris disk/cd 2

Hello,
I need to now the following information on solaris using standard commands
or if not possible then using system calls:
- Hard disk size/model
- Hard disk vendor
-CD drive type/model
- CD Drive vendor
I would be grateful i fsomeone can help in this regard.

You can probably get the HD information that you need with the "format" command. As user root, type "format" and you will see the hard disks attached to the system then select the one you wish to view. Type "current" and you should get the info you are looking for. When you are done, type "quit" to exit format.

As for the CD-ROM, try running the "prtconf -v | grep -i cd". This may give you the model number.......but I'm not sure about the vendor.

format (menu will reveal itself).
Then type inq
and format>inq or inquiry.
You will get Vendor Name of the Hardisk installed to the system.
