I'm running solaris 9 as a test bed. When loading solaris and loggin in as root, I have no password set.. ie Username=Root Password=ENTER KEY .

Now.. after solaris loads.. i just tried to go into the sun managment console.. to view the status of a dual channel scsi pci controler i put in... prompts me for username = root... pasword=ENTER KEY .. no dice. Incorrect password.

Now how is it that I can loginto solaris 9.. bring up my GUI.. but when i try n start that app.. it dosent recognize it. I mean it should.. roots password is the ENTER KEY?!?!

Im stumped.. and I have no idea on how to re-assign root a new password. Any help would be aprecieated.
TY
