How long should take format & Verify?

I am running this command below since 21 hours and it is still running...
It's a T5220 e/w 4 x 300 GB HD. I want to install Solaris 10.

format> format
Mode sense page(4) reports rpm value as 0, adjusting it to 3600
Ready to format. Formatting cannot be interrupted.

Beginning format. The current time is Wed Jul 31 09:33:31 2013

Formatting...
Mode sense page(4) reports rpm value as 0, adjusting it to 3600
done

Verifying media...
pass 0 - pattern = 0xc6dec6de
42457/27/63

Please let me know,
There must be a quicker way to do this.... Is it the rpm at 3600? if so how to make this higher speed???
Thanks!

Verifying media...
pass 0 - pattern = 0xc6dec6de
56472/2/252

So the Number found in the HD or show-disks from the OK prompt is the Cyl = # of pattern

On my case 65533 and pass 0 & Pass 1, very long process :)
