SOLAR CAR Serially Connected Wireless Comm. System

I am working on the wireless comm. system for the University of Utah Solar Car. I need a serially connected wireless communication system. Do any of you know where I can go to buy a system? Any help in finding different types of systems would be helpful. Thanks so much.

Here is an inexpensive idea if 900 mhz with a total throughput of 56K will do it for you. Both the controller (their term for access point) and the data jack are serial interface.
