Solairs 8 -- Installing a Network Printer 1

Greetings,

I am interested in adding a remote network printer to my SUN Ultra 5 running Solairs 8. It would be nice if I could make this remote printer the default lp printer.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

The easiest qay is admintool. Too bad I.T. is not cash business

1. admintool &
2. Choose Printers
3. Edit- Add-Access to Printer
4. add the printer name, server, and so forth. Click on Options-- Default Printer
5. Click on OK

Hi,

First of all add the IP address entry of the N/W printer in the file /etc/hosts of your server as follows :-
x.y.x.z net_prn
Then give the following command:
#lpadmin -p prn -s net_prn!HP5
where prn=name of printer on server
net_prn=name of N/W printer
HP5=printer identification
#lpadmin -d prn(Make it u'r default printer then)
