Can you stop a software patch from loading in the middle? If you do will you corrupt the system or render it inoperable? Just curious becuase I want to add a patch remotely overnight and was wondering if for any reason it should disconnect would the system stop working.

You can scheduled a patch so you will be sure that the transfert is good and it will be applied at the moment you want.

I would strongly reccommend not applying the patches remotely.

I maintained 60 BCM 1000, 200 and 400 remotly for 3 years and never had a problem upgrading then from 2.5 all the way to 3.6 and installing Culm patch's 1, 2 and 3. I have lost the T1 to sites severale times and when the connection came back up everything was usually OK. once or twice I had to restart the upgrade but they always worked.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I have done patches remotely with no problems. But should the update not complete will it affect the system? I tried scheduling it and it didn't work and I had heard that there was an issue unless you installed another patch to get it working properly.

Why didn't it work? where there any Error codes? what was the indication that it didn't work.

I don't really know why it didn't work I just know that it didn't go. I tried it twice and another tech I work with said that the BCm 50 needed a patch to accept scheduling updates. I have scheduled them before with no problem so i know it was setup tight. What I want to do is start the patch before I leave and then let it run till the morning when I come back in. What I am concerned with is occasionally my modem will drop the connection and want to make sure that if that happens I won't corrupt the system.
