Software diagram help please for new Visio user 1

Hello

I'm totally new to using Visio, and my company want me to look into using Visio for drawing software diagrams, such as Data Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams and Entity Life History Diagrams. I know virtually nothing about these at the moment.

At the moment I've got Visio 2003 on my PC, and I'm about to download the trial version of 2003 professional.

Is there any help/advice/pointers you can give me to help me out?

In Visio, click on File > New > Browse Sample Drawings.
This has some good samples to start with. Microsoft Visio site has some help.

Buy the following book Step by Step Microsoft Office Visio 2003.
This will provide a good background for you to begin learning how to use the program (try Amazon)
