softphone w/netgear fvs338 and windows vpn client

hey guys,

has anyone set up or tried to set up a softphone with the FVS338 and a NEW VPN CONNECTION WITH WINDOWS?? i have tried to create a new connection in "network connections" as a VPN connection.

i tried to set up a vpn connectoin in the FVS338, but not realy sure if im doing it right? i went to VPN WIZARD and did a "client" type connection. after that i really dont know how to set it up??

IN A NUT SHELL.....
im trying to get a softphone to work by connecting to the FVS338 from my laptop without having to get the netgear vpn client software.

any help would be great!!

Usually for devices like the Netgear 338, or other firewall/vpn type devices you need the IPSec software client for the computer you're using. Never tried to use any built-in Windows client stuff for that.

I know for the Netgear 318 it's based on Juniper's NetScreen Remote software and I have used that instead of NetGear's client software.

is the netgear client software any good??? i have read that its not?? never tried using it, so i wouldnt know?
