Hi guys,

When I logon with the softphone enabled account (399),
I'm getting this error:

Failed to register with the ip office...

And I see this in the monitor:

I have only 1 license for Softphone, is there anyway I can get the license back free without rebooting?

Thanks guys!

you can try to go up to status in monitor and see if an old connection shows up and reset the phone. i have not tried this but it may work

kwing112000 is correct. If softphone doesn't close properly, it won't de-register from the gateway. checking IP phone status in monitor will allow you to de-register all ip phones. any hard phones will re-register and you'll have to restart the softphone applications

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

You can also select 1 phone or use control and select multiple phones and reset them with the monitor.

Thanks guys!!

I never checked the IP phones status for debugging :)

I will let you know the result.

One thing i have found with 4.1 is that if an IP device loses sight of the IPO, we did this by unplugging the handset but nit could be for amy reason, the IPO does not do keep alives or unregister the device from the gatekeeper at all.

It just sits there, does nothing at all and leaves it registered.

On an IP handset when you plug it back in you get the option to do the unregister thing, but you dont get that on a softphone.

This could be a potential issue.

Interesting PG. On our 4.1 forum Avaya assured us 100% IP Handsets/Softphones did do keep alive and also retries on loss of sight of the IPO.

Every one sniggered and said this couldnt be true.
