Softphone is controlling desktop

We recently had someone in to look at our ipoffice. One of the things they got me to do was use phonemanager to connect. I used my extention and now if I do not have Phone Manager running the phone on my desk displays nouser and it and my extention becomes useless. Is there a setting somewhere to stop this or should I delete the user and recreate.

In the logon screen on Phone manager there is a setting for logging in base extension. Uncheck that box.
