Softphone field greyed out in UCA

I want to add a softphone to an existing user in my UCA. The softphone field is greyed out. Is there any way around this without deleting and recreating the users UCA account?
 
You have the licences?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
 
Yes, I have licenses and working softphones. It is the delete/recreation of the UCA account that is a PITA.
 
are you using AD sync or pabx?
PBX - Can you not just create the softphone extension and set the exact same first name and last name and do a sync.

AD - just change the otherip phone field ( if thats what is set in the sync mappings )and do a sync
 
The softphone is greyed out because the account has been created from a sync, doesnt matter what type of sync it is, the only way to type it in is to delete and manually create the account.
Adding it to a sync is a whole nother ball game.
