We recently got an IP Office 8.1 installed in our network and have been dealing with Avaya trying to get the softphone to work over a standard PPP VPN using TMG 2010. They've had the ticket opened for almost 2 months now with randomly asking for traces every other week. I was wondering if anyone here is using TMG 2010 and have successfully have the softphone up and running using the VPN. Yes, it works internally. And rules are in place to allow SIP UDP port 5060, and TCP port 80, from VPN to internal. HELP!

Why are you blocking ports inside a VPN though, that's just daft :)

OK, opened all ports inside the VPN. Still having the same issue. I get an error message on the softphone after i try to login, "IP office softphone has experienced a problem and needs to close. Would you like to send us an error report so we can improve our service?".

That sounds almost like a corrupt install, but you say it works locally, what happens if it has no network connection when launched? :)

I would need a network connection to remote to it to test. I've reinstalled numerous times so it's not corrupted.
