I have an IPO 406DS 3.1(56) - every day the receptionist has to re-boot/start the softconsole at least once as the BLF's just stop working. Once the Softconsole starts up again they are fine again!

Anyone experienced this before - it's the only site we have where this happens! I'm not sure whether it's a Network issue or a PC (service pack etc) issue......

Cheers

Is this a Pure IP enviroment, in regard to handsets or a Digital roll out?

Question Softconsole was upgraded when 3.1(56) was applied @ site ?

What OS is the SoftConsole running on? If it is Windows XP Service Pack 2 did you run the FW.bat file? Also, make sure that the network card properties do not allow the NIC to go to sleep and make sure to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

There is a note somewhere that says that you have to turn off lan firewall protection on a win xp/2 box to keep the blfs functional.

Also you may have to uninstall the softconsole, give the user domain admin privledges then install the software again. Once working the user rights can go back to normal. I have seen this as the cause of blfs not working in softconsole.

Thanks for your responses guys....

Applied all of the above as TCP/NEtBIOS was disabled as was the the LAN card which was set to standby!

Thought i'd sussed it then but unfortuantely we've had another report this afternoon now of it stopping :-(

MrIPO - Digital only.

note - BLF's are multisite as WAN linked but the softconsole works at the other sites!

Are the IPO LAN ports a Layer 2/3 Switch or HUB ports? as softconsole was plugged into them!?

Cheers

Make sure that all of the other ports (50791 to 50802 are some of them) are not being blocked. CarGoSki is right, have you ran the Firewall batch file?

does the person have admin rights. to the system folders. i have seen other apps such as winspm and other s work for a will but then get locked up because they can not write to the system folders.

Hello, I have the same issue with Softconsole not worlking on 3.1(65).
This company has three sites, all linked via LES circuits, the links are rounted so each office has IPPhones in thier own subnets.
They have two consoles, which are on different subnets to the IPO and the BLF do work sometimes and then stop working, they will work on one console and not on the other.
Where could I find the firewall batch file??

Many thanks in advance

This is with teir 4 now in avaya.

It has never worked from day1 on variuos different software levels - there are 2 softconsoles linked on identical machines with same admin rights and firewalls turned off etc.

there is definately an issue with the IPOffice and AVAYA.

Thanks all for your replys

i'll keep this updated when a fix(PB) is found!

Cheer lads

I have sorted mine out, I place both of the Softconsole machines into the voice vlan and hey presto, it all works, all of the P.C still work, i.e outlook, etc,etc

It is strange that the BLF's sometimes worked since a broadcast should not be forwarded across a Vlan interface.

Nice

When windows firewall is off it is still running and blocking ports. You have to stop the service in order to fully claim that the firewall is not running.
