If you are looking at work-at-home, you can deploy SIP via an SBC which may be easier than setting up a VPN infrastructure. Also SIP allows up to 10 devices to register to the same account and all be in use at the same time. This is great if you have people that want to use both a soft client and a phone at the same time. SIP gives you video and collaboration capabilities.

Don't try going to SIP on your current version. You need to upgrade.
