I know that this has been discussed before but couldn't see a definitive solution. IP406 on 3.2 (tried 5.0 too, but have an Alchemy Phone 30 unit in the stack)
Calls out from the VC are fine, calls in fail.
Routing is OK, if I plug in a Cybergear Gold I can recieve a voice call on the DDI. If I substitute the Polycom, the yellow light on the SO8 port flashes but the VC fails to pick up the call. Call Status shows the call as Idle. The VC installer claims that the VC should answer a voice call (i.e. as a phone extension) but it isn't even doing that. VC installer says that it works fine on BT ISDN2, and that there are no settings to change so it must be the phone system. I am maintaining that if I can recieve a call to a Gold but not the VC, it must be a Polycom issue.
Any suggestions much appreciated !!

How is your incoming call route set

Video calls usually present as data type calls. I suspect that the incoming call route is set to speech or similar and needs to be set to data

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

It does not have to be a Polycom issue as ISDN can act strange when used as a S0-bus.

Can you make a trace of the S0 line when receiving incoming calls, for each endpoint a trace.
Then we can see if there is a difference between them adn it will make clear if it is a polycom issue or not.

The one thing you can do before that is to set the TEI of the S0 to 127 ( ISDN PTMP ).

You need an ISDN terminating resistor (100Ohm) to make it work i think.
Also try the option above like intragant mentioned.

Thank you all.

Matt - I tried Any Voice, Any Data, Video on the incoming call route. I defaulted the system and set up a single incoming route for all calls - same result with the VC not answering but the Gold works fine.

Intrigrant - Setting the TEI to 127, in the line tab ? Help suggests that this field is not used but I will try it. For the trace, any particular settings or just a default monitor trace (I can't see any specific SO fields) ?

Bas - termination resistor has got to be worth a try.

IF you use DDI 123456789 then make a system shortcode like this:

123456789
dial
123456789
Line id of you S0 port.

Make an incoming call route with Any instead of any voice or any data and set the destinaiton of your system shortcode.

If you need multiple ports then make multiple entries.

OK, got it working - thanks to all those above and also to D4Irl from a previous post.

Here is the solution.
SO lines set to line numbers 601,602,603
TEI set to 0
No terminating resitors.
All clocks set to Network.

The main telephone number is 020 wxyz 2000
The PRI is provided by COLT and they are presenting 8 digits for the DDI.

Incoming call routes are
Bearer = Any
Incoming number = wxyz 2090 Destination wxyz 2090
Incoming number = wxyz 2091 Destination wxyz 2091
Incoming number = wxyz 2092 Destination wxyz 2092

Short codes are
wxyz 2090 Feature Dial Telephone Number wxyz 2090 Line group 601
wxyz 2091 Feature Dial Telephone Number wxyz 2091 group 602
wxyz 2092 Feature Dial Telephone Number wxyz 2092 group 603

It appears to be the case that the Polycom as looking at the D channel and will only answer the call if the presented DDI of the pilot call (wxyz 2090)matches the first entry in the Polycom ISDN BRI number directory which it uses to give calling units the phone number of the other circuits.

I realise now, re-reading tlpeter's post that this is exactly what he said to do but didn't realise the significance of it so didn't match all the numbers !
