Hi all,

I have installed the newest version of collectd on my CentOS 5.5 machine and since I'm pretty sure it's using SNMPv2, was wondering if I could find a "proxy" for SNMP v3...
I may end up needing to write an SNMP v3 module for collectd.

Please let me know,

Thanks in advance,
Tezarin

I believe collectd does not use snmpv3.

I would think writing a SNMPv3 module would not be trivial.

I wonder why collectd just doesn't use net-snmp?

Hi Bill,

I agree...But do you think there is a way to write a SNMPv3 module? I couldn't find any tutorials on this subject...

I know little about collectd but snmpv3 is a big big change from snmpv2c

I would be surprised if a module could do that.

Bill
