Hello all,

Trying to monitor 2 2600 routers from inside thru the PIX. Both routers sit outside and are configured with HSRP. I have followed the Cisco doc for configuring the PIX to allow SNMP from external nodes to inside NMS but it doesn’t seem to be working properly (SNMP timeouts). Can someone help?

Thanks.

What do you have configured for SNMP?
Did you allow community strings on both 2600s & the PIX?
Do you have port 161 open?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I actually fixed the issue by using another external ip address in the static translation. I guess the one I originally applied was already in use.

Thanks again.
