Hi all!!

Please can anyone tell me how i can setup a simple SNMP test trap to a network management ie HP OpenView from an Windows NT machine. Please reply asap would be much appreciated!

Many thanks!

Hi there tommys,

Well maybe if you already set up your HPOV network node manager, i guess you can always use snmp trap generator or other software with similar capabilites.

try going to
there's quite a number of snmp tools that you can use.

Or if you want to see any kind of trap on your hpov nnm then just simply stop one of the nt service try stop and restarting your snmp service. I think you would be able to see a message on your snmp traps viewer where the source for the message would be the hostname/ip address of your nt server.

Good luck.
