For practical reasons, I need to use my Sniffer Basic on Win XP but Win XP seems not supported yet...
I do not want to upgrade to Sniffer Pro Lan directly... What can I do in the meantime (with keeping my OS)?
As you've found out Sniffer Basic v4.5 (the latest version) isn't supported on XP. I also doubt that NAI will release a newer version, as it's at the lower end of their "product set". For your reference - Sniffer Pro v4.7.5 is supported on XP.
What can you do? - Try installing it, you may have issues with ODBC during installation, or when capturing.
Why not use Ethereal to simpy capture packets, save it as enc file and use you're non xp box to analyze the packets. 'Making things work better; bit by bit.'
