Is there any software that can take a "snapshot"
full image like ghost does of a server,
so you can then restore fast ??

thanks

Veritas Backup Exec - with Intelligent Disaster Recovery" option.

There is a backup appliance called Idealstor ( that comes with Acronis snapshot software. It works great. You can snapshot your servers during the day even without using a lot of CPU utilization. In addition, with the backup appliance you can restore faster because your data is on a disk. You can snapshot your servers to this backup appliance and even mount the image on the appliance to restore from it. The Snapshot software also allows you to boot from a cd which detects network and Raid controller drivers. From a push of a button you can restore your whole server. I recommend using with the backup appliance. I even think that they give free copies with the appliance if you purchase one.
