Hi,
I have upgraded from A2k to AXP and converted the db file to AXP fileformat. Everything I've tested so far seems normal, except from this:

When I run the following VBA code

DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "rptChargeData", _
acFormatSNP, strS1, True

I get this errormessage

Run-time error 2282

'The format yoy're trying to send outdata for current object is not available'
(Direct translated from norwegian)

I've tried RTF file format and that works fine.

I've also installed Snapshot viewer and this control also work (by opening a Snapshot file)

What can cause this error, and more importanrt - how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for your reply GHolden!

As you suspected, it don't solve my problem. It works with other formats so non existing path or illegal charachter in filename is not the case here. I have the same error on another PC running WinXP and AXP (Norwegian versions). It would be great if someone could tell me if the OurputTo command creates the same error I get or if it works?

Hi Gerhard!

I think we can completely rule out the Norwegian regional settings as a possible cause, because it works on my computer (WinXP Pro SP1/AXP SP1). But I'm using English version (not very fond of the mental challenge of changing between Norwegian and English when toggling between Access and VBE;-)).

But I'm afraid I can't offer any assistance on this, xcept what you've probably tried yourself:

Replacing acFormatSNP with the litteral:
"Snapshot Format (*.snp)"

Using a hardcoded short paht/name:
"c:\test.snp"

You said you'd uppgraded from a2k, have you checked the references? Anyone missing/invalid?

Hi Roy Vidar

I'll stick to English so others can follow the thread also.

Good to hear that it is working elsewhere, because then there is hope :). I've tried all your suggestions without any success, and yes, I've checked the references and they are set to the same. I'll start a new db from scratch and test this. I'll get back with the result.

Thanks for your reply!

Hi again!

I created a new fresh database, made a new report and tried the same DoCmd.OutputTo, but still no game :(.

Sad news:-(

Just out of curiosity, have you also tried using the sendobject thingie with snp? Logically that shouldn't work either.

[tt]docmd.sendobject acsendreport, "rptChargeData", acFormatSNP, "some@mail.no",,,"Test", "Bla bla..."[/tt]

I'll try to check if some of my acquintances might 1 have a clue 2 have axpno and can try, but, it's xmas;-)

Haven't found any good .no forums, but there might be a possibility at

Hi Roy-Vidar!

Thanks for helpfulness, much appreciated! Now I have fixed it. I got help from Rob Cooper at Utter Access forums. He listed the registry settings for the snapshot format. I checked out mine, and they were the same, with the exception of the 'Snapshpt Format' which was a Norwegian made up word 'Øyeblikksbildeformat' (som really creative people must have come up with that term). So when I replaced it with 'Snapshot Format (*.snp' - it worked great again.

Once again thank you for your time and interest. Great to know there are local members here as well :).

Have a nice Xmas!
