SMTP setup for Crystal 8.5

I am currently upgrading to CE 8.5 and my last task is to setup Email support. I've installed the required patches but I'm still receiving the following error when I try to email a report:
"server error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_OPEN(2)".

Has anyone successfully sent email from CE 8.5? Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't seen that error.

Once you've set up the server information correctly, it generally works just fine.

I finally got past this issue and have successfully setup the job server to send email to a SMTP server. Now I receive an email BUT there is no attachment. The Crystal Support site indicates there could be a MIME issue on the SMTP server. My Email Administrator tells me we accept all the doc types I've tried to send.

If you are using an IP address for your mail server then you get the error that you have described. The hot-fixes for 8.5 are supposed to fix it, but the only wat that we got it sorted was to upgrade the server to V9
