Hi All,

I have an IPO that won't forward VMs to email. Only one user has this feature and has VM to email set to copy with her email address
XXXXXXX@gmail.com. Under SMTP the IP address is 0.0.0.0 with a port number of 42. Any help would be appreciated. I checked an older CFG I had saved and nothing has changed.

Thanks

All,

I forgot to mention this IPO is connected to a VM Pro and during nightAA when option 9 is pressed it transfers to extension 103 leaves a msg then sends an email to the doctor who has a gmail account on her cell.

I would start by entering the correct IP/DNS and port for the SMTP server.

Are you looking at smtp in Manager or in VM Pro? If you have VM Pro you change the smtp settings under preferences in VM Pro, not in Manager.

Thanks Telecomboy, In VMPRO I'll have to input the DNS (216.58.218.165)of gmail.com and the port number (465), right?

You can use an FQDN in voicemail pro, as long as the voicemail server has properly working DNS and a gateway that has access to the internet.

What release are you on? I do not remember when voicemail pro started supporting SSL/TLS (which google does use with their exchange from what I recall).

What version of VM pro? I believe IPO/vm Pro started doing TLS in 8.0 or definetly 9.0 In VM pro try this

Create a Gmail account.. ( voicemail@gmail.com

server address: smtp.gmail.com
port: 465 for vm pro
Use StartTLS: Tick
Server requires authentication: Tick
user name: the address you just created using gmail
Password: (hint gmail password)
Use Challenge Response Authentication( CRAM- MD5): UNTICK

test and should be good to go..

Hi all,

I want to thank you for all your input. I discovered that the customer had unplugged everything Power, keyboard, mouse etc. All I had to do was reboot verify the DNS/Port and save and make live. This is the third time this customer has just started unplugging equipment. I've had to rebuild this VMPRO three times in the past. He doesn't have a Maintenance contract but pays every time. I appreciate all of your input.

Thanks

hey guys,

im trying to set VM to email up using Gmail. I wasn't sure where to put the settings? in the control panel or Manager?

using VMPro 9.0

do I need to put the settings in both the Manager SMTP tab and the VMPro control panel?

any help would be great!!

thanks,

I guess I should ask.... is the SMTP tab in Manager only used for Embedded voicemail?
