Hi Folks,

My Intranet site runs on a Windows 2003 Server and there are several pages on the site where users can send emails out to cusomers, etc. At the moment, these emails are sent directly from our Webserver to the customer.

However, I would like to route the emails through our MIMESweeper server so that the emails are scanned for viruses on the way out and also so that our company disclaimer gets added to the bottom.

How do I configure my webserver so that all emails get routed through another server??

In the properties of the SMTP virtual server, I tried settin up a Smart Host with the ip address of my MIMEsweeper Server. When I attempted to send an email from the Intranet I got the following error:

You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.

<WEBSRV.myDomain.local #5.7.1 smtp;501 5.7.1 This system is not configured to relay mail (r) from <me@mydomain.com> to <me@otherdomain.net> for rsvd-reuters-12.20.10.195.in-addr.arpa>

I was attempting to send an email to myself at an external address and also CC'd my own domain account. I received it in my domain account but got the error above when it attempted to send it out to my external address.

Any ideas?

Have you told the MIMEsweeper server to accept relay connections from your intranet servers IP address?

Don't see anywhere in MIMESweeper. IT seems to just have a domain specified rather than actual servers. Set up a masquerade domain on the webserver SMPT virtual server to match our domain but it made no difference
