Two questions in this post.

We are having endless errors and issues with using Google Suite (smtp.gmail.com) with SMTP in IPO SE and IPO SE VM (it's configured in both Manager and VM)

What are the definitive settings that actually work (we are using an app password and have enabled two-step authentication on the account). If anyone has the "final answer" on what settings in -Google, IPO, and IPO VM - would be much appreciated. It works - then it stops working!!

And, does anyone have a definitive recommendation for an alternative SMTP provider that works 100% reliably.

Thank you.

The Google smtp works fine (just tried) but only using the IP500 alarming, viceversa me too faced the same issue on IPO SE VoiceMail a few days ago, it was not mandatory so I did not investgate, I suppose it's a system bug or a security issue, anyway here the gmail settings:

IP Office account: youremail@gmail.com
Smtp= smtp.gmail.com (74.125.206.108)
Port 587, Use STARTTLS
Server Needs Authentication
Account Name: youremail@gmail.com
Password: The Application One

addionally to these settings, the email account be should using basic authentication only (email and passwd), try to get those settings by googling "how to set the email account from printers and scanners"; once you have that, use the settings sent by lamaSherpa.
