SMTP port problem

Hi

I have installed Sendmail on redhat linux,i can telnet to the port 25 for localhost(i.e telnet 0 25) But if i try telnet"IPaddress" at port 25 it says connection refused.
Can any one help my regarding this.

I am totally new to Linux can u tell me how can i check that,i dont think so i ahve installed

[tt]ipchains -L[/tt] or [tt]iptables -L[/tt] should show you all rules that are currently being applied to packets. //Daniel
 
I think you start sendmail mail for localhost. the easy way to clear is find this line in sendmail.cf
O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA

and edit to
O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=0.0.0.0, Name=MTA

then restart sendmail
