smtp keeps stopping

Hi all
I am using smtp from ipo v5.024 (no vmpro) to a server 2008 smtp service. It works fine for about 3 or 4 days then stops, reboot fixes. has anyone seen this?

there was a thread not too long ago that the problem can lie in a mailbox having a lot of messages and tries to send them all at once and the IPO gets nasty and stops once 1 message fails and a reboot will then revive it. Check all mailboxes for the amount of messages and should you have one that has a lot of them delete them all (better even delete all messages) and then reboot.

Thanks Westi, I'll check that out. I wonder is there a setting in server 2008 to allow a lot of emails....

That's not the issue really, the IP Office should try again once it gets a failed attempt but it seems it doesn't and hasn't for some time, I'd say it's a long standing bug but hard to prove so nobody has

agreed andy, i'm thinking of using an outside smtp as I did before and didn't get an issue. the only problem is sending out mail which has to come back in seems pointless
