When trying to send an email to an address containing an underscore (my_name@domain.com) via the Exchange SMTP server, the server immediately rejects the recipient.

However, if you try to send to the same email address via the full Exchange client, it goes without incident.

I searched the MSKB to no avail and was curious if anyone else has experienced this problem and had a solution?

Thanks

what do you mean with the 'full exchange client' ?
How do you send it now? If the answer is here, mark it, others can benefit from it too.

Most of our end users connect to the Exchange Server through Outlook 2k or higher. However, several of the remote end users have chosen to utilize only the POP/SMTP service through Outlook or Outlook Express for email because of bandwidth considerations.

This problem seems to only be present for those who use the POP/SMTP method instead of Exchange.
