IPO 412: 4.2.14

I get an alarm that one of my T1's is down approximately 3x's/day from , when in fact, it's not ever down. We never get complaints of dropped calls or anything. It is a point to point T1 that is terminated via a Netvanta 3420 and only has 6 channels of voice per side. System status never has the trunk as out of service either. Can anyone help me figure out how to stop this alert or figure out where it is coming from?

Thanks.

Figure it out damn-it!

This is the IP Office sending you messages about the T1 being down? Can you post a copy of the message?

Do you see any historic alarms in SSA?

Also on the Netvanta are you seeing any errors for the T1?

Yes, IPO sending email message stating "Trunk 2 (T1 PRI 2) is down" and w/in 1 minute(literally), it sends "Trunk 2 (T1 PRI 2) is now operational". SSA is showing some clock slips, but never showing out of service or anything like that. Just some slip errors. No yellow/red, out of service alarms etc.

Going to see what I can find in Netvanta. Thanks.

So you have the Netvanta taking the P2P and splitting off channels for data and handing 6 to the IP Office as a T1/PRI, correct?

I would check the Netvanta for errors on both the P2P side and the IP Office side. Check the clock config on the netvanta/IP Office, check the cable between IPO/Netvanta etc...

The clock slip is enough for the smtp error
In fact you lost sync and that is generating your alarm
It should not loose sync
