SMTP connector problem

I'm having troubles with my SMTP connector, I lose the connection to the remote SMTP server which my exchange 2003 sends out the e-mail messages. Please check this:

The point is that the SMTP connector shouldnt be Scheduled, but ready. It is set to be always connected, and to overcome this I do right-click on the connector and then force connection. An hour to reconnect is the shortest time period.

And to complement the issue: If STATE not READY then messages get queued for sending and not sent for a period of time. Thats why I do 'Force Connection'.
