Hi,

Basic question I think.

I have Exchange 2000 with GFI Mail essentials stopping my spam.

I have an application that schedules reports to be run and uses a SMTP mail transport to send the mail. I get a protocol failure in the application due to the mail account not being authenticated.

My question is, how do I allow the application to run the email? There is no place in the application to put in a username and password to network authenticate. The application is running on the same box as the exchange server.

Thanks in advance,
Jaz

How does the application get started?

If it's a service, you may be able to specify a domain account for it to run as. Scheduled Tasks can also be assigned a domain account.
