Hi,
We want to use SMS 2003 in our center IT Departmant and we have some IT departmant different location and we connect each other with low bandwith SDSL. (256 kbps) We want to install main server in your central IT departmant and we want to use SMS 2003 distrubution point for other locations bu we have some anxiety about SMS low bandwith performance. is Low bandwith could be problems for this situations? If you share your opinion for tihs situation I will be happy.

Thanks,

It depends on how many clients will be over the wan.

Boiler plate design is 25 or more users should use a secondary to perhaps a couple Hundred...

if the clients are advanced clients then you would want a secondary with a proxy MP and a protected DP.

If you had a huge number of clients you would want a child primary.

use the capacity planner found at.

This is one of the reasons that BITs was implemented.. You must use advanced clients..

About 250 clients on wan all client win2000 pro,

Thanks

secondary with a pmp and pdp on basic hardware (nothing extreme with that small amount of clients.)

I would throttle it to "talk" during slow times.

That link to the capacity planner would spell it out clearly.
