I have just registered with the MSDN and have received a multiple of Microsoft applications, one being SMS. The CD that is provided is SMS Server 2.0 Service Pack 3. When installing, the option to install a Primary site is greyed out. It only allows me to create a Secondary site. I am not familiar with SMS, so I am not sure if this is going to cause problems with only having a secondary site installed for test purposes. If anyone has solutions please let me know. It might be a matter of ordering SMS 2.0 on CD from Microsoft.

Thanks

Make sure that you are installing this on Windows NT/2K SERVER not Workstation OS. Joseph L. Poandl

I'm pretty sure that CD is only a sp3 patch. We received a similar CD from M$ labelled SMS2.0 sp3 and all it is, is the sp3 patch.

I believe you have to have SQL Server installed on the machine you want to host SMS first.
