Hi everyone,

I have a Avaya IP Office 403 (DT) 3.0 (531) linked to a PRI line. Voicemail Pro 3.0 (19). I would like that if a server goes down, that a server monitoring tool like nagios will send a email to a mailbox, once this emailbox has received a file..

The question: Can the IP office be configured to send out a SMS to a number I would like to notify the IT team on standby one this email is received?

Or is there another, better why of doing this.
Ofcourse I would like to save cost and try and use anything we have.

Thanks!!

Alexander

Yes that is current and I use APC. But that still wont send a SMS. Can the IP Office 403 DT send a SMS?

No IP Office can send SMS directly.

IP Office 3.2 can send SMTP emails including ones for the voicemail server being down and there are plenty of SMTP to SMS services on the internet. Just the problem of having to upgrade (especially if you have DT phones on that 3.0DT).

my cell phone email account sends me a text whenever it gets an email.

sprint wireless.

Most wireless providers allow you to email yourself an SMS. The email address is usually 5551234567@carrier.com. Check with your provider for more info.

Here's a quick referance for your email to SMS

T-Mobile: phonenumber@tmomail.net
Virgin Mobile: phonenumber@vmobl.com
Cingular: phonenumber@cingularme.com
Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com
Nextel: phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com
US Cellular: phonenumber@email.uscc.net

phonenumber = your 10 digit cell number
