IS-IT--Management
Hi
This has been driving me up the wall for about a week now. I have searched all the threads but come up blank.
I have 2 DC's running NT4 the BDC has set itself up perfectly with the SMS Executive service and is acting as a CAP but the PDC keeps failing to install the Executive service.
The error message i get is
SMS Site Component Manager successfully used the SMS_SERVER_BOOTSTRAP_SMS2 service to run the following program on site system "\\DC1":
\\DC1\ADMIN$\system32\smsmsgs\srvmsgs.cmd /install /siteserver:SMS2
The program failed for the following reason:
Could not create a child process \\DC1\ADMIN$\system32\smsmsgs\srvmsgs.cmd with command line arguments "\\DC1\ADMIN$\system32\smsmsgs\srvmsgs.cmd /install /siteserver:SMS2", Win32 CreateProcess() failed, GetLastError() returned 5.
Possible cause: SMS Site Component Manager does not have sufficient access rights to administer the site system.
Solution: Verify that the Site System Connection accounts are properly configured to allow SMS to administer the site system.
(sorry for the spam)
It then tries to reinstall after 60 mins.
The NTFS permission on the Winnt folder are the same on the PDC as they are on the BDC.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have very little hair and this is makeing me loose more
