SMS Discovery Data Manger 1

Hi,
Where do I stop and restart the SMS discovery data manager?
I got the error message below from my primary server and I'm not sure where to do this.

Possible cause: SMS Discovery Data Manager is not running.
Solution: Stop and restart SMS Discovery Data Manager. You can use SMS Service Manager, which is invoked from the SMS Administrator console, to stop and start components.

I've never come across this problem before but the compnents list is found...right at the bottom of your tree on the left pane of the admin console

Tools > SMS Service Manager >right click > All Tasks > Start SMSSM > expand components > expand SMS_Discovery_Data_Manager >click on your server.....

at the top is the start, stop, pause commands etc.....as far as I am aware, they should all always be running (well the main ones anyway), not checked that though. Have a quick look to see if it's stoped. Try and restart it. If that doesn't help, and neither does a reboot.

Thanks! That was what I was looking for.

The strange thing is that the errormessage pops up every now and then. Not that it causes any issues that I have seen so far. I just wanted to check it out. Service was started and error messages from the logs are gone now.
